Backgammon Masters Awarding Body


The Backgammon Masters Awarding Body (BMAB) confers mastership titles and proficiency level certificates based on calculated error rate performance (using eXtremeGammon) in live clocked matches in tournament conditions. It is the central hub of the Backgammon Masters Series Group whose fundamental goal is to promote backgammon as a leading international mind-sport.

Players Cup BMAB Tournament Format
The Wild West Players Cup BMAB is a modified round robin format, 5 matches, 9 points per match (5 x 9 = 45 Experience Points). All matches are clocked in accordance with both BMAB and USBGF requirements. All matches played in the tournament are  submitted to BMAB.  Clocks and recording devices will be provided, as well as match transcriptions.
At each Players Cup Backgammon event, participants will earn circuit stars contributing to the annual race, with stars awarded for placement, winning rounds, and participation. The competition is fierce, and every match played, regardless of outcome, adds to the excitement and camaraderie of the circuit. If you come in first place you will receive a percentage of, or a full, Iron Star. Additional details can be found on the Players Cup Backgammon website.
