Description

Greenhorn is a modified round-robin, 3 matches minimum, 5pts per match.  Division 1 – 3 players are NOT eligible to play in the Greenhorn (Novice) division. Additionally, if you have ever won a previous Novice tournament, you are NOT eligible to participate. All players who participate and complete their designated matches will be eligible for a random drawing to win a new Artgammon backgammon board ($400 value), Sponsored by Gammon Guys. All players will receive a one month membership to the USBGF, snacks throughout the day, and the winner of the event will also receive coveted ABT points.

• Div. 4 – Greenhorn Champion – Custom trophy and a $60 coupon good for registration as an ABT Advanced Warrior at the 2024 Wild West Shootout – Prize money TBD
• 2nd Place (and ties) – $60 coupon good for registration as a Warrior at the 2025 Wild West Shootout – Prize money TBD
• All local players receive a free 60 minute lesson from a member of the Colorado Backgammon Club

Greenhorn (Novice) Workshop
Backgammon for Everyone – Greenhorn (Novice) Workshop is available prior to the ABT event for an additional fee. This two-day workshop covers everything you need to know to compete with confidence, including the doubling cube, Crawford rule and basic strategy.
